Stile and public footpath, Stoneley Green, Cheshire
This leads to the next stile, then straight on to another in a hole in the hedge by the canal towpath. If you are coming back to the boat from the pub in Ravensmoor in the dark, and the terrain is soggy and wet, try the longer route west to the bridge, then north-east along the towpath. Longer, but dry feet will be the reward.

The horses were being exercised and trained near to a freshly laid polo field. Several fields around the farm are divided into paddocks for the horses which form an important part of the local farming activity. The rust coloured bunkers on the right are used for depositing horse manure.
