The Shakespeare Inn - Nantwich, Cheshire
At the junction of Dog Lane and Beam Street the Shakespeare Inn, formerly known as the Elephant and Castle, has been closed for some months but in February 2014 is being offered to let. Nantwich was one of the centres of the salt industry in Cheshire with eight salt houses at the time of Domesday. In December 1583 a fire destroyed much of the town but although extensive, the damage was repaired. Time photo taken 11.21 am BST (British Summer Time).
