Fine Art Wall Coverings, Holmes Chapel - steam engine
Back in the 1990s it was still possible to find beautiful generating sets like this Belliss & Morcom at what is now Fine Décor Wallcoverings. It was removed to Markham Grange Nursery in 1992 but has seen no active use there. It is an inverted vertical compound (enclosed) engine, serial No. 9258 of 1937. It is a V-type with cylinders 13" & 20" bores x 10" stroke. It developed c300 bhp at 428 rpm and is direct coupled to an alternator.

Bridge Farm, Holmes Chapel
Fast becoming surrounded by the Chapelmead estate. Phase 1 was mostly complete by December 1995 and work had already started on Phase 2, behind the farmhouse. The farmhouse remains a private residence.

Old Milepost by the A535, Macclesfield Road, Holmes Chapel
Cast iron post by the A535, in parish of Holmes Chapel (Congleton District), roadside, on the verge in hedge, on North West side of road. Cast iron CCC1898, erected by the County Council in the 19th century.
