Former Fisons site, Holmes Chapel
The former Bengers pharmaceutical works (Fisons from 1947, Rhone-Poulenc from 1995) was a major employer in the area. Production ceased in 2005 and the works were demolished over the last few years. Unfortunately we seem not to have any photos of the buildings on this site except for a glimpse of the office block Image taken in 2013.

Described as 'temporarily closed' on the Samuel Smith website, the owners have evidently seen fit to place boulders outside to prevent vehicle access to the car park and the parking bays at the front. How long it will remain like this is anybody's guess but there are posters in the window advertising for new tenants. In happier times the inn offered nine en-suite guest bedrooms
