The Derelict Crewe South Junction Signal Box
Crewe South Junction Signal Box closed on 2 June 1985. Signalling was handed over to Crewe Signalling Centre (a Power Signal Box) which still exists to this day.

Approaching Crewe
The guard checks the road as his train approaches the platforms at Crewe, having come from Wellington via Market Drayton. The locomotive passing on the adjacent track is No 47524, a 0-6-0T designed by the Midland Railway.

Ballast Train at Crewe, 1989
Class 37/4 diesel-electric locomotive No 37427 takes a northbound ballast train through Crewe station in the summer of 1989. The train heating capabilities of this locomotive would not be required on this duty!
