This is the view looking north-west towards Forge Bridge, No 155. Note the huge yellowish-green bank of flowering Japanese Knotweed on the left. A method of killing off this invasive plant has now been developed, so it needs to be used here.

Forge Bridge, No 155 near Wheelock, Cheshire
This former accommodation bridge was built (probably) in the early 18th century, long before the housing which is now off to the left. Note the huge yellowish-green bank of Japanese Knotweed on the right just beyond the bridge.

Forge Bridge, Wheelock
This seems to be the local name for this bridge, relating to the former Wheelock Forge which was on the north bank of the canal just to the east. It now just gives access to a football pitch Image The brick arch bridge is more elegant than most on this stretch of the canal.
