This disused building stands facing the Trent and Mersey Canal by bridge 172 in the heart of Middlewich - surely this site must have development potential. The church of St Michael and All Angels can be seen behind. Note also the water point provided by British Waterways for the use of boaters.

Wharf Cottage, Middlewich
Originally offices of the Trent and Mersey Canal Company, dating from the later 18th or early 19th century and later in residential use, but now becoming derelict. This area was known as Town Wharf and was used for dispatch of Cheshire cheese and other goods by water. [From an information board on site].
