Cumnor House, Abbey Hill
At the corner of Abbey Hill and Abbey End. Dating from the mid 18th century and yes, it is drooping a little to the left. Described by Pevsner as a Georgian 'straightforward five-bay job'. Grade II listed as 17-19 Abbey Hill, LBS no. 307729

Snow falling on Abbey Hill
The sign directs tourists and visitors to the main attractions of the town - not that you would expect many people today ! Postscript: I did actually see some Japanese tourists at Kenilworth Castle the next day!

Look closely - it has obviously subsided at one time, probably many years ago.

Cumnor House and Little Cumnor, Abbey Hill, Kenilworth
Little Cumnor is the house on the left - recently refurbished (2009). The main road turns the corner from Abbey Hill (on the left) to Abbey End (on the right). Cumnor House may have been named after Cumnor Place, Cumnor, Oxfordshire, which in 1560 was the scene of the death and suspected murder of Amy Robsart, the wife of Lord Robert Dudley, who owned Kenilworth Castle. See http://www.bodley.ox.ac.uk/external/cumnor/articles/inman-robsart.htm The story inspired Sir Walter Scott's novel 'Kenilworth', published in 1821. The great popularity of the book drew a lot of Victorian tourists to the town.

The bay windows face Abbey End. There seems to be a blocked up doorway between them. Does this suggest that it was a shop at one time?
