This bookmakers relocated here in April 2012 from their former premises in The Square. This shop unit (which is part of the Talisman shopping centre) was previously in use as Pizzo pizza restaurant and takeaway (see 2010 photo Image] )

One end of the refurbished Talisman - the shops on Warwick Road. Christian hairdressers and Pizzo 'delipizzeria'. This business unfortunately didn't survive very long - it closed in 2011 and was replaced by William Hill bookmakers who opened here in April 2012 - see Image]

Built as part of the Talisman Square development in the 1960's and refurbished with a new glass canopy a couple of years ago. From left to right - vacant former Woolworths store; Greggs bakery; Kenilworth News-newspapers, stationery and gifts; Pizzo pizza restaurant/takeaway; Christian hair salon. In the window of the former Woolworths can be seen posters advertising Kenilworth Festival events. The national Woolworths chain went bankrupt and closed in December 2008 - this store has lain vacant since then, though a rear portion including the side entrance off Talisman Square has been separated off to form a new branch of WH Smith.

A pub on Warwick Road, the main street through Kenilworth.

The long-vacant former Woolworths store at 17 Warwick Road is being refitted to create a new branch of the national Robert Dyas chain. The shopfront of the former Woolworths has been retained with just the window frames repainted. In this view the fascia still has to be painted, and the traces of the old Woolworths sign can still be seen. The poster in the window informs us that the new store will open on 5th November, two days after this photo was taken.

The new Robert Dyas homeware store opened on 5th November, selling a range of products that were very similar to that stocked by the former Woolworths here previously, though perhaps a little more upmarket! See Image] and Image] for how the building looked previously.
