Early on a Sunday morning, workmen start erecting new signs at Kenilworth's former Somerfield store in The Square, to turn it into a Co-operative. The store was closed for a few days for a refit. For the previous few months Co-op branded products had been sold alongside Somerfield products on the shelves. Also see Image]

Ego and Zizzi, 29 The Square, Kenilworth
The building that now houses Ego and Zizzi restaurants was formerly known as Drummonds wine bar, and previously the Kings Arms. It was substantially refurbished in 2006/7 to form apartments on the upper floors as well as 3 separate restaurants (including 'She' around the corner in Station Road). The Square ends at the junction with Station Road on the right of the photograph and the properties beyond (including Newey estate agents) are in Warwick Road.
