Approaching Napton Bottom Lock
It may be September, but this was a glorious morning - warm with the sun shining from a cloudless sky. A narrowboat prepares to enter Napton Bottom Lock on the Oxford Canal, a flight of nine locks stretched across about two miles. The building on the immediate left incorporates a toilet and Elsan disposal point provided for boaters by the Canal and River Trust.

Napton Locks
The canalside building by the bottom lock at Napton is reflected in the water on a sunny but bitterly cold evening. The flight at Napton consists of nine locks into total, stretching between here and Marston Doles.
