The post box in the main street. The date suggests that it was probably one of the last postboxes to have GR on it.

St Joseph (Roman Catholic), Avon Dassett
The older of Avon Dassett's two church buildings is almost opposite the village pub (now the Yew Tree). Built in 1855 with money from Joseph Knight, the architect was Thomas Meyer of London. He seems to have become confused in the attribution with George Myers, the favourite builder of the great Catholic architect A W N Pugin; an attribution which Pevsner and Wedgwood quoted with scepticism in their Warwickshire volume of The Buildings of England (1966).
