Houses on Old Shipston Road
This row of terraced houses lies back from the modern road on the old route. Shakespeare's Way passes the doors but no one seemed to be up and about on a freezing Sunday morning to watch us pass.

No longer the main road
The A3400 which runs through Alderminster was once the A34 and was much more important and busier. A sharp bend in the road has been bypassed leaving the old section of the road as a pleasant backwater.

Old and new roads
Both parts of the road are called Shipston Road. The old road through the village is to the left, with some lovely houses. The new road cuts off a corner to the right, and once carried all the South to Midlands traffic, but it has itself been bypassed, by the M40. The Shakespeare's Way goes to the left.
