Building Plot, Welford on Avon
It would appear that the house that used to be on this site has been completely demolished. It was a relatively small bungalow and if adjoining properties are anything to go by it will be replaced by a much larger one. the track going down the left hand side of the plot has a street name plate "GREENWAY"

Welford-on-Avon Maypole
The maypole in Welford-on-Avon is 65 feet/20 metres is tall. It used to be wooden but was replaced by an aluminium pole after a lightning strike.

Maypole on the village green at the junction of High Street and Chapel Street.
Small plaque on the pole reads:

A notice board nearby expands on the story. At 65ft, the maypole is the tallest in England. It was originally made of wood, but replaced with aluminium after a lightning strike in June 1967.
The horse chestnut tree to the right commemorates the Silver Jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary, and has recently had a bench installed to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Image]
