Former Flower & Sons Brewery, Clopton Road
The brewery dates from 1831 and closed in 1967, following a takeover by Whitbread. The Flowers name continues, but it is now brewed in Luton. The brewery has since been converted to residential use.

Narrowboat crew member in Stratford-upon-Avon
Having just opened the tail gate of Lock No 52 by Birmingham Road he is walking the five hundred metres to Maidenhead Road Lock, unaware of how very difficult the bottom gate there is to operate. I hope it is dealt with in the forthcoming winter maintenance schedule.
