Underwater railway, Myton
A Chiltern Railways service to Stratford-upon-Avon passes beneath the Grand Union Canal, west of Leamington Spa. The brackets supporting the waterway tank can just be seen under the left hand arches of the aqueduct. Brunel extended his Great Western Railway from Oxford to Birmingham around 1850. The line from Leamington's elevated station has to drop sharply to get under the canal, then climb up to Warwick's elevated station, all in a distance of 3.2 km.

Steaming through Myton
The former GWR line through Warwick is a popular route for steam-hauled excursion trains. Whence they come and whither they go is not known. This looks like a test run - a jaw-dropping moment for a photographer waiting for something else.
