Victorian villas, Kenilworth Road, Leamington Spa
Unusually for English houses, some of these have shutters which are not merely decorative but actually work; see the house on the left, which had all three upstairs windows facing the road shuttered (only the right hand one is visible).

Gutted
This former house in Leamington Spa was turned into a small hotel many years ago. It has now been bought for conversion into yet another care home, which in this case involves gutting the entire building leaving only a facade which looks like it is being retained. A large hole is being dug to extend the basement for further accommodation.

Homewood
Homewood is a Methodist retirement home on Kenilworth Road. This view is looking NW near the traffic light junction with Lillington Avenue. This area of Leamington Spa used to be occupied by large numbers of "Old People's Homes" to use the term at the time. Modern regulations and rising costs have seen many close and undergo conversion to flats.

Leamington Cricket Club ground
The square, seen from just west of the modern clubhouse. The ground is a much-loved oasis in the leafy north Leamington suburbs, and sought-after by developers.

This building has been boarded up since 2011 -see Nigel Mykura's photo
Image Developers McCarthy and Stone did have plans to redevelop the site for retirement apartments, but their planning application was refused. Recently it has been announced that there are plans to use the site as an extension to the adjacent Audley Binswood retirement development.
