The Gables, Kenilworth Road, Leamington Spa
As at Blackdown Image some of north Leamington's enormous Edwardian or late Victorian mansions have been converted to other uses. The Gables is occupied as offices. It was one of several buildings in Leamington requisitioned in World War II by the Civil Defence Camouflage Establishment.

Building types, Kenilworth Road, Leamington Spa
If my memory serves me right, Kenilworth House on the left is one of a pair of office buildings that reproduce one that was prematurely demolished. 58 Kenilworth Road, beyond it, is the real thing: a late Victorian villa though converted to other uses.

Vernon Close, Northumberland Road, Leamington Spa
An agreeable example of late 20th century housing introduced into Edwardian or late Victorian ornamental grounds. More recent examples try to grab more land, get more height.

East side of Cloister Way, Lillington
The Maidenhair Tree, Ginkgo biloba, has found favour as a street tree in recent years. It has a slender, open crown and an endearingly spiky, 'bottlebrush' appearance. London's Fitzrovia has some impressive semi-mature examples. Here in the sticks we have a specimen turning autumnal gold, right of centre, and the foliage of another tree intruding on the right. All's well at the moment but these trees will get BIG! Size matters to householders.
