Former post office, Priory Terrace
The former main post office for Leamington Spa, built in 1870 designed by the architect James Williams. The section to the right was added in the 1910s with the sorting office in the right background added in the late 20th Century. The post office closed in 2013, with business transferring to the Spar in Bath Street (see Image). Grade II listed - see www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1418452.

Wall lamp, Post Office, Victoria Terrace
This may date from the late 19th century. The original 1870 Post Office had a two-storey southern part (right) with entrances on Priory Terrace. On the north side was a single-storey sorting office which at some point (1912?) was built up to two storeys (left). From 1870 anyone wishing to post a letter when the Post Office was closed could use a posting box directly into the west side of the sorting office. Until the street improvement some time after 1882 the only access was by a narrow footpath perched above a horsewash that was acknowledged to be a public nuisance. Following complaints about night-time conditions the postal authorities installed a lamp.

Former post office in Royal Leamington Spa
In April 2015, the building located between the River Leam and Priory Terrace has a TO LET board on a ground floor window. There are Hallmark name bands on ground floor windows and above the corner door. POST OFFICE is engraved in stone on the building - the postboxes and phoneboxes remain from the building's earlier use.
