The Windsor Club
This listed building in Leamington Spa has housed The Windsor Club for many years but is now for sale, asking price around £800,000. The Club catered for a more mature membership and recently applied for extended licensing to allow shows, films and later drinking. What has caused the sale is not known.

Vacant ground floor, corner of Warwick Street and Windsor Street, Leamington
When first proposed, this building may have found favour with the planners because it sported a feature that would form a focal point at a slight bend in the road – a Leamington theme. Sadly, the detailed treatment produced yet another cardboard box. The ground floor was originally a branch of the Slug and Lettuce chain of bars, succeeded by Athenée Royale offering 'meat & liquor'. Agents' signs advertise A1, A3 and A4 premises to let. There are flats on the three floors above, occupied since 2004. A resident tells me that the block contains 29 flats and extends to Windsor Place. "The retail premises is a small part, now even smaller as some of it has been converted to residential."
