Leamington Spa: site of Blue Plaque - Wilhelmina Close, Warwick New Road
This imposing Regency villa in the suburbs of Leamington Spa has now been divided into apartments, but it was once home to one of the town's most famous residents - Sam Lockhart the world renowned elephant trainer.
The two plaques seen here commemorate him and his life , but there are many other reminders of him throughout the town. This includes the modern address of this building 'Wilhelmina Close' which celebrates one of his most famous pachyderms
