An elegant terrace - Royal Leamington Spa
On Geograph's 12th birthday walk led by Robin Stott. This is a zoom shot from our closest point of approach.
Robin Stott has supplied the following extra detail: - This is Bertie Terrace on Warwick Place (named after the landowner at the time, Bertie Greatheed of Guy's Cliffe).

Milverton Terrace, Leamington Spa
Classic Leamington - incomplete Victorian development filled in later, whatever. Probably the legacy of a gung-ho council in the 1960's that cared nothing for Leamington's heritage.

Prolific architect
These buildings are just two of the many in Leamington Spa designed by Victorian architect William Thomas. Many of his buildings survive although, as here, they are often converted to flats. After a building industry recession in the 1830s, he emigrated to Canada, becoming one of that country's leading architects.
