Properties along the private road to the rear of Avenue Road, Leamington
The Parkhouse development in Avenue Road appears to be extending and converting a big Victorian villa. The road in the foreground is Station Approach. It dates from 1851 when Leamington's Avenue station opened. Doubtless the coming of the railway reinvigorated house-building in Leamington, accelerating its transition from spa town to residential town. The villas in Avenue Road are some of Leamington's most elegant: Image In the foreground in this photo are the metal access covers to a surface water holding tank, a vital element of the south Leamington sewer improvement scheme 2012-2014. On the left is the end of a single-storey brick building – the former bus station. This area is set to see further changes.

Future uncertain
This is the former Leamington Spa main library, now facing an uncertain future. There was a plan to develop flats and commercial operations in the existing building but the economic downturn seems to have brought a halt to that. The only recent activity was the boarding up of doors and windows which suggests nothing is likely to happen soon.
