Early 19th Century villas. All are grade II listed - see www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1381200 for the nearest building, no 9. The houses on the right are later, having been built around the turn of the 19th/20th Centuries.

Faded grandeur
These terraced properties in Charlotte Street, Leamington Spa old town, must have been up-market homes when first constructed. Now they are mostly converted to rental flats and have a neglected air about them.

Regency town houses, Charlotte Street, Leamington Spa
Charlotte Street runs between Tachbrook Road and Brunswick Street, on the south side of town. It is an area of Victorian villas and modern social housing, so it is quite a surprise to find these houses from the heyday of the spa town in the early to mid 19th century, in classical style with cast-iron balconies and with stucco facades (now painted white) on the red brick.

The Grand Union Canal, Royal Leamington Spa
Running right along the northern edge of the square at this point, the canal is heading in the Braunston direction. On the right is Flavell's Factory and the trees mark the site of the former Flavell's wharf from the days when supplies and deliveries were made by narrow boat.
