Birdingbury Church
The gates are slightly ajar inviting passers-by to wander into the churchyard and examine Birdingbury's unusual Georgian village church. St Leonard's Church was built in 1775 to replace an earlier building which, according to contemporary reports, was in a decrepit condition; the building was heavily modified a century later. The land falls away from the road towards the River Leam so that from the lych gate viewers are looking down on the church building.

Birdingbury Church
St Leonard's is an unlikely looking building for a Warwickshire village church. It has been described as 'like something out of Bavaria or perhaps a very unusual cemetery chapel'. The church dates from 1775 when it replaced an older building that was 'ruinous, wholly decayed and dilapidated'. Extensive alterations were undertaken in 1876 to give the church a, by then, more fashionable gothic appearance.
