The Green, Bilton
Enveloped in freezing fog, which would not clear all day, Bilton is relatively quiet on a Thursday morning during lockdown. There is a range of shops here including the pharmacy on the immediate right. The George, one of two pubs, looms out of the murk on the left beyond the traffic lights. Parking is available on the narrow strip between the pavement and the road but larger cars have a tendency to stick out.

Shops on The Green, Bilton
'Contented Soles' and 'Sudz' occupy 30a and 30 The Green offering podiatry and dog grooming respectively. The premises were for many years home to a convenience store but that closed down shortly after a Tesco Metro opened nearby.

Bilton Green
Bilton is extraordinarily quiet in this mid-morning weekday view thanks to the Covid-19 lockdown. There are many very serious downsides to the current situation but the air of peacefulness that pervades normally busy areas is a pleasure.
