The George, Bilton
This is the rear of the pub with its small beer garden. It is part of the Stonegate Group and marketed as one of its Classic Inns ('destination suburban pubs'). The red bordered notices explained the queueing arrangements for Covid-19 - customers being required to wait for a member of staff to show them to a table. At least they could open indoors - only for the second day after many months of closure and a short period where outdoor service was allowed.

The Green, Bilton
A bench is provided here but this cold Christmas Eve is perhaps not the day for sitting on it. In the background is the George, now owned by the Stonegate Pub Company, which is currently closed under the Covid-19 regulations.

Bilton Green
Bilton is extraordinarily quiet in this mid-morning weekday view thanks to the Covid-19 lockdown. There are many very serious downsides to the current situation but the air of peacefulness that pervades normally busy areas is a pleasure.

Around February each year the Green in Bilton is covered with a carpet of colourful crocuses. The George forms the backdrop in this view.
