Tank Crossing
Strewn with litter, this crossing over New Bilton Sidings is not officially named by Network Rail but leads to Tank Cottages and was traditionally known as Tank Crossing. The railway here was originally part of the Rugby - Leamington line which closed to passengers in 1959. Nowadays just two short sidings, latterly used to stable on-track machines, remain and these sturdy security gates have to be opened to access the whole length of them. However, current plans (March 2021) are for a new terminal to be developed here to unload spoil brought in from HS2 sites that will be used to infill the adjacent quarry.
