Railway at New Bilton
Seen from the Lawford Road bridge, this is the end of the remaining stub of the Rugby - Leamington railway, now used as a location to stable on-track machines. Passenger trains ceased in 1959, but the line continued to be used for freight until 1985, latterly the only traffic being a daily coal train to the Southam cement works. After that it was truncated here at New Bilton where there was a connection into the Rugby cement works.
