Nuneaton railway station
Many trains pass through this station, which is on the West Coast Main Line from London Euston to Crewe, where trains continue onwards to North Wales, Liverpool, Manchester and Scotland. One can also catch a train to Birmingham, Coventry or Leicester and points east. But relatively few of the west coast trains stop here, and the large station, with its seven platforms, feels underused, with the buddleia sprouting between the lines adding to this effect. The station opened in 1847, but has been much rebuilt since then, notably in 1913, when the clock tower was added.

Up express at Nuneaton (Trent Valley)
View NW, towards Stafford, Crewe etc. on West Coast Main Line. Rebuilt 'Royal Scot' 7P No. 'The King's Regiment, Liverpool' (not yet fitted with smoke-deflectors) speeds through on the 07.50 Crewe to Euston, passing Nuneaton No. 3 Box. There were extensive marshalling yards on each side of the WCML here and in the distance can be seen the ex-Midland Birmingham - Leicester line crossing over the WCML, to pass through Nuneaton Abbey Street station.
