West View, Ansley Common
A small street off the main road. Until recently it consisted of just one long terrace of small Victorian houses, dating back to 1891. I believe they were built for the workers at Ansley Hall colliery (see shared description). Some still survive -those in the background of this photo- but half of the terrace has now been demolished and replaced by the new houses seen on the right. The work was done by North Warwickshire Borough Council and Waterloo Housing Association. An aerial view of the terrace how it was can currently be seen on Google Maps, and a view of the work in progress can currently be seen on Google Streetview.
