Margate sliding house
'From the knees of my nose to the belly of my toes' A temporary art instalment created by Alex Chinneck at 1 Godwin Road at a cost of £100,000. The Thanet District Council owned building has been re-fronted with a new fascia giving the impression the front facade has slid down into the garden, leaving the top floor room exposed. The house was empty for 11 years before the council compulsory purchased it. The project was finished in October to stay for one year.

The Tom Thumb Theatre, Eastern Esplanade, Cliftonville
On the outskirts of Margate, this is a family run arts venue. Originally built as a coaching house in Victorian times, the building was converted into one of the smallest theatres in the world in 1984.
