Former Margate College Preparatory School, 19 Hawley Square
It is pleasing to note that scaffolding has been erected on the front and side of the building as, almost a year ago, its future seemed uncertain Image

The London Tavern, Margate
This was recently called Everybody's Inn, but has reverted to an earlier name with a change of management. It has been repainted from black and white to this colour scheme, but oddly the green on the facade has then been scrubbed off to reveal traces of the old London Tavern lettering. Presumably this a step towards proper restoration.

My previous photo of the Image seemed to indicate that work was going to start to restore the building. Planning permission has been granted by Thanet District Council under application numbers F/TH/14/0662 for the “replacement of existing roof structure and parapet walls” and L/TH/14/0663 “application for Listed Building Consent for external alterations to existing roof structure and parapet walls”.

Last June Image, you would have seen the house encased in scaffolding. Now the exterior looks very smart after its repainting.
