Junction of Station Road, Minnis Road and Alpha Road
This is a zoom out of the flowerbed shown in
Image, showing its geographical location - it is the one by the lamp post in the centre. As you can see, there is another flowerbed just in front of it, but the variety of plants isn't so interesting, hence why I chose to just picture the former. Station Road crosses the image diagonally, passing by the village shops behind me and passing over the railway at Birchington station just beyond the parade of shops at the extreme right of the photo, whilst Minnis Road is the road leading off into the distance down to Minnis Bay. Alpha Road, meanwhile, runs just behind me and finishes at the flowerbeds, running down to Epple Road just outside Epple Bay. View taken looking west-southwest.

Flowerbeds at the junction of Alpha Road, Minnis Road and Station Road
This rather beautiful flowerbed can be found at the centre of the triangular junction of Alpha Road, Minnis Road and Station Road. There's quite a rich variety of flowers here - mostly geraniums and marigolds, but there also looks to be some violets and some sort of grass-like plant similar to a yukka. Apologies for the slightly cut-off view on the right, but there is a lamp-post right by the flowerbed, which is really in the way! View looking west-southwest towards Minnis Road.

Ice Cream Parlour in Birchington
Now here's a view that's pretty rare these days! There is an ice cream parlour situated at the junction between Minnis Road and Surrey Gardens on the right hand side of the gridsquare! It certainly has a very extensive menu indeed! I myself have only been in here once for a knickerbocker glory, but I remember that it was quite delicious!

John Chawner Antique Clock Specialist
This exquisite antiques shop, dating from 1891, is located a little east of Birchington station, adjacent to the footbridge over the railway just beyond it. As you can see, it is rather overgrown with ivy, but apart from that it seems quite well maintained. The shop is filled with antiques of all kinds - clocks, rocking horses (one of which you can just see in the photo) and models of ships, trains, etc. The view is looking north, with the railway in a cutting behind the shop.
