This 18th century building, number 2 Station Road, is home to The Pistachio restaurant, previously The Mulberry Tea Rooms. Constructed of brown brick with red brick dressings and quoins under a tile roof with shaped Dutch gables. Birchington-on-Sea is a seaside village some 7 miles east of Herne Bay and some 3½ miles west of Margate. There is evidence of occupation from the Iron Age. As a resort, the village has a tourism based economy, with hotels, caravan parks and leisure attractions. Many retirees make the village their home.

The Anglican parish church of All Saints is mostly mid 14th century incorporating fragments of an earlier church on the site. The building was extensively restored in 1865. Inside is a 13th century font and an interesting 17th century pulpit. Listed, grade II*, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1094681
