Snow-covered ivy-covered lamp-post on Albion Road
This old concrete lamp-post looks beautiful with the ivy climbing up it, but looks even more beautiful when both it and the ivy are dotted with white specks! This is found on the right hand side of Albion Road at the junction with Alpha Road, looking north towards the footbridge over the railway at the centre-left of the square.

View of the garages on Woodford Court
At the end of the right hand prong of the road fork on Woodford Court is this block of garages. For privacy reasons I didn't photograph the whole block, but just included a few in shot just to get an idea. View taken looking east-southeast, with Albion Road running along behind the garages in front of the four houses in the background.

Albion Road Volkswagen
A little irony here! Somebody has lost a wheel rim for their Volkswagen car, left it on the pavement, and some kind-hearted pedestrian or angry motorist has placed it on the Albion Road streetname sign. It is ironic because there is an Albion Road Motor Company on another Albion Road in Broadstairs, just a matter of kilometres away from Birchington! This was taken from the junction with Alpha Road, looking north-west towards Birchington village centre.

A Snowy Woodford Court #3
An image from March 2008 that I forgot to post at that time. This is a view of the garage block and the rest of the right hand prong of the road fork of Woodford Court in snow. The four houses in the background on Albion Road look fantastic with their powdery white coating, as does the grass on either side of the road. View taken looking east-southeast.

Painted Lady butterfly in my nan's garden
This is a response to Shazz's photo http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1398845. It is the same species of butterfly - a Painted Lady - but is instead taken from my nan's garden on Woodford Court in Birchington. My nan's garden stones make quite an effective, rural-looking background. Picture taken looking north-northwest towards the sea.

A Snowy Woodford Court, Birchington #2
This view shows the other arm of the fork in Woodford Court covered with a thin coating of snow, looking north-west. I literally only had to walk a few centimetres from my position in A Snowy Woodford Court, Birchington to take this view, emphasising the extent of the narrowness and small size of the road!

A Snowy Woodford Court, Birchington
On the afternoon of 23rd March 2008, light snow flurries fell in Birchington. It settled on grassy areas, but the roads and pavements were too wet beforehand, so it did not settle on them. I was extremely lucky to be in Birchington that day, because it is the first time I have ever seen it snow in the village! This view is looking north (seaward) down the right hand arm of the fork in Woodford Court, near the square's 30 line.
