Bypassing the older Whitstable, but now bypassed itself by the newer A299.

Footbridge over A2990
A compromise to accessibility - not steps as such but a stepped slope. Tedious to drag a pushchair up it (and rather bumpy for the occupant) but I should think it's really hard work in a wheel chair.

A2990 Thanet Way heading towards Herne Bay
This road leads from Whitstable, towards Chestfield and Swalecliffe. Seen from the footbridge over the Thanet Way leading from Millstrood Road towards a Tesco Supermarket.

Swale Park, Whitstable
This new housing estate is on Millstrood Road, opposite Tesco's Extra superstore.
It used to be a group of industrial warehouses (that stood empty for a long time).
Some houses are still being built along the A2990 Thanet Way.

Bus Stop near Tesco's Extra
This bus links Whitstable, Chestfield and Canterbury with the store.
Shame that Stagecoach do not run any disabled friendly buses on this route.
Presumably Tesco don't care much as most go via the car!
Still very annoying!

Roundabout on the A2990 Thanet Way
The Thanet Way leads straight on to Seasalter, from Whitstable and Herne Bay. Millstrood Road leads left towards Tesco (a superstore) and South Street. Millstrood Road also heads right towards central Whitstable. Seen from the footbridge crossing the Thanet Way.
