Railway to Swalecliffe
This line leads under Shades Lane road bridge towards Swalecliffe and Tankerton, then other stations to Margate and Ramsgate. From Whitstable and other stations from London.

The railway line at Whitstable
The line between Faversham and Whitstable was opened by the Margate Railway on 1st August 1860, and was extended to Herne Bay on 13th July 1861. This view is from the bridge on Ham Shades Lane. The next station in this direction is Chestfield and Swalecliffe.
