Folkestone, Harbour Branch Line
Folkestone, Harbour Branch Line, Warren Road level crossing.
The Folkestone Harbour Branch Line was joining the South Eastern Main Line at Folkestone Junction. The branch and harbour station provided a rail connection for boat trains from London which connected with the ferry services to Calais and Boulogne.

Disused Railway line in Folkestone (2)
This unused railway line used to lead from the main Dover-Folkestone line. It then branched off, headed over Warren Road (with disused level crossing), then heads under Radnor Bridge Road (just seen in background), then past the Harbour, to end on Folkestone Harbour Pier.

'Electric Blue-bird' descending Folkestone Harbour Branch, 2008
After one of the 'last trains' had departed, this cavalcade of three class 73 electro-diesels appeared. 73 204, 73 205 and 73 209 were running on diesel as the third rail supply had been turned off some years previously, in fact the rail had been removed uphill from this location at Warren Road level crossing.
