Cleared site for Channel Tunnel Terminal in 1988
I was standing beside the A20 looking over what used to be Burlington Field while to my left, out of sight, would have been the Folkestone Rugby Clubhouse (it is now located at Bargrove Farm Image). Behind, and to the left of, the wrecked railway wagon would have been rugby pitches. The railway wagon, which stood in Vicarage Meadow, was used as a stable for whatever livestock was put into the meadow. In the distance is part of Peene village with the North Downs beyond. This is where the administrative buildings and vehicle parking bays are situated today.
