Haven Drive, Hawkinge
During the construction of the estate, a mound of earth, about 15 feet high, was left to the south of Haven Drive. This has been grassed over and planted with trees to form a viewpoint and this is where this view was taken from.

Seen from Hurricane Way, planning permission was approved, with conditions, by Folkestone and Hythe District Council under application number Y15/1179/SH for the “erection of retail store, and alterations to car park layout, following demolition of existing retail store”. This view of the Image shows the building from another direction. This was the first lying snow of 2017, which had fallen the day before and was gone the day after this view was taken.

Extension to Lidl Food Store, Haven Drive
Planning permission has been approved, with conditions, by Folkestone and Hythe District Council under application number Y13/0046/SH for “erection of extension to front (east facing) elevation to provide additional warehousing space to existing retail food store”. Having selected items in the store, before I took this view, I asked the cashier what was going on and she said it was going to contain a bakery and that all the staff would be required to work in it.
