Traffic is directed to use this road as a short cut to London Road, as it means that one does not have to go into the centre of Deal to reach this road.

Earlier views show 'Grocer' above the door. Whether this has fallen off or been taken off is uncertain, probably the former. Evidently the premises are in business for something inside the windowless and dimly lit interior.

Cornwall Road finishes at the bridge, as does Walmer. The road continues into Deal as Hamilton Road.

Railway bridge, Hamilton Road, Deal
Immediately the other side is Walmer, the boundary running down the east side of the railway track, and the road becomes Cornwall Road. However, Network Rail have chosen to call the bridge Cornwall Road (BME2/1993).
