182, The Marina
Apart from the scaffolding that has been erected on the front of this building, there is a plaque dedicated to Arnold Cawthrow, who lived here. He was born in 1913, died in 1991 and was Big Chief I-SPY. The plaque is situated on the right hand side at ground floor level.

Mary Hougham Almshouses, Deal
Mary Hougham Almshouses date back to 1890 and consist of 4 flats and 8 cottages that are located in Griffin Street. The charity aims to offer accommodation to over 60s who reside in Deal and who have found themselves in need of affordable accommodation. Primarily, those who are offered residency have some form of connections with Deal boatmen, hence the plaque over the entrance door.
Mary Hougham was born at Deal in 1810. She ran a small boarding school in Middle Street. She died at Deal on 11th June 1887.
