Canterbury: following on
Kent had scored 446, bowled out Nottinghamshire for 265 and enforced the follow on. The players were coming out from the Pavilion early on the third afternoon, with the visitors facing an uphill task. Despite collapsing to 78 for 5, Notts resisted heroically on the final day, reaching 348 and setting Kent 168 to win. Kent's response was ill-judged and chaotic and they finished on 86 for 6, clinging on to draw a match they should have won comfortably. Kent 446 and 86 for 6, Notts 265 and 348. Match drawn.
