On the corner of Parade and Rose Lane outside the now closed down Dorothy Perkins store. Tanga Pasi means ‘Starting from Scratch’ and is a band based in Plumtree, Zimbabwe. They are creating a fusion of reggae, afro-jazz, folk, rock, Kalanga rhythms and traditional Ndebele harmonies. They began in June 2009, when lead vocalist Sinini Ngwenya, gathered together a few friends around Plumtree. With not much employment or entertainment around, they decided to put a band together as a way of uplifting the community.
