A terrace of grade 2 listed buildings in Albert Road
This Gothic terrace, nos. 3 - 13, represents part of the development scheme for the East Cliff in the 1860s and 1870s. It has not been proved that they were designed by the architect, Edward Pugin, but they are strongly reminiscent of his work.

Memorial to Edward Welby Pugin with Victoria Parade in the background
The large building in the background is Pugin's Granville Hotel. Edward Pugin was the son of the celebrated leader of the Gothic Revival, Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin. Edward was one of three sons and he became a celebrated architect whose work and influence can be seen in various parts of Ramsgate. The inscription on the marble plinth states "In memory of Edward Welby Pugin the gifted and accomplished son of Augustus Welby Pugin one of Englands greatest Architects. Born 11th March 1834 died June 1875. This bust is erected by Edmund F. Davis 1879". The bust is the work of sculptor Owen Hale.
