The pedestrian walkway and car park outside Westwood bus garage, on Margate Road just south of Westwood Cross. This garage provides buses for Stagecoach's services throughout Thanet.

In conjunction with the building of the new Westwood Cross Shopping Centre, this Vue cinema was also built on the site and can be seen adjacent to the car park of the shopping centre. The building in the background behind the cinema is part of the business park constructed in the late 1990s/early 2000s which forms the third and final roundabout on Haine Road (the one leading into the shopping centre car park is the second, while the first is the original roundabout which linked all the roads around Westwood). One of two supermarkets opposite each other, but 5 minutes walk away, close to Broadstairs.

An Alexander PS bodied Volvo B10M turns out of Westwood bus garage onto Margate Road. This was Stagecoach's standard single deck bus for most of the 1990s; these once ubiquitous buses are now becoming rare, so it was quite a surprise to find one here.

This is the entrance to a large store on Margate Road. In the background is Primark, one of the large stores in the shopping development.

No, you're not seeing things - there are really more shops under construction at Westwood Cross! This time, the site formerly occupied by Shoe Factory and Wickes is now being built on. At the time, there was no telling what the new stores were to be - one of the buildings was to be a Smyth's toy store as the Smyth's logo was on one of the buildings, but all the others hadn't had the store branding put on yet when I took the photo. I would imagine all the construction has finished by now and the stores are fully in business. There's a look of more building to come at Westwood Cross, with large open areas looking like they have just been tidied up a bit before the next phase starts.

A patch of undeveloped land in the middle of all the other new buildings, but they've laid a bit of gravel so it doesn't look a mess. Watch those weeds though.
