Old Lifeboat House, Broadstairs
This 300 year-old building on the pier housed the Broadstairs lifeboat, whose operations saved 247 lives before its closure in 1918. It also served as the Harbour Master's office.

"The Quaint Old Pier"
This pier which Dickens liked, dates mainly from 1808. Previous structures have stood here since Henry VIII's reign. A few small boats shelter here at high tide.

Broadstairs Pier
Broadstair's pier is quite short and culminates in this little bulge with a seafood bar which was doing a good trade on this sunny summer's day (something of a rarity in 2012).
