Transmitter at Woldingham Station
There is poor mobile reception in the Woldingham Valley. I'm not sure whether this facility serves one of the mobile networks, or the railways' own communications system.

Roman Snail (Helix pomatia)
Britain's largest snail (this specimen was around 7cm long). It is found on southern chalk downs. It has been reported that in the 1960s they escaped from a snail farm locally and it is just taking them a long time to get back to Rome. Owing to concerns about over-harvesting from the restaurant trade, they are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, making collection illegal.
