Moated half-timbered house at Little Wenham
This house, in the absolute corner of this square is across a fence and a wide moat from the public footpath. When the restoration is completed it promises to be a glorious residence.

All Saints church, Little Wenham, Suffolk
This church, seen across a field, dates from 1300 and stands close to the 13th century Little Wenham Hall, which is private. The brick built upper stage of the tower is Tudor.

Little Wenham All Saints
This charming little church is a mile off the main road. The church with the exception of the 15th century tower is 13th century and little has changed. No drastic restorations have taken place to destroy the ancient dignity. There are scratch dials on the buttress nearest the porch. The porch itself is half-timbered and has three niches in the gable. The octagonal font is early 14th century but has been restored. There are ancient wall paintings in the nave and in the south wall is an altar tomb in a recess. The chancel has, on the north wall, an elaborate Easter sepulchre. Among others, Gilbert de Debenham, Joseph Thurston, Sir John and Thomas Brewse are remembered here.

Wenham Castle
The "castle" is actually a fortified manor house, also known as Little Wenham Hall. See http://www.gatehouse-gazetteer.info/English%20sites/3414.html

Little Wenham Castle
The castle is apparently within an enclosed private area, moated and fenced. In fact, that seems to be the case for virtually the whole of this village, which is only accessible by bridleway and footpath

Barn at Little Wenham
A fine barn, beautifully restored, outside the ultra-private enclave of the main settlement. Clearly within the square on Explorer - but with Landranger it's on the cusp!
